TENS hire terms and conditions

When you pay for a TENS machine hire, you have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

  • The hire period is for up to 8 weeks. The TENS machine will be posted to you four weeks before your baby’s estimated due date (as advised by you at the time of booking). Ideally your TENS machine should be posted back to Labour Loot within three weeks of your baby’s estimated due date (so it is received by Labour Loot within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date).

  • If you hire the TENS machine less than four weeks before your baby’s estimated due date, it will be posted within one business day. It is still expected to be returned within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date.

  • The cost of hiring a TENS machine is $75 and this includes:

    • Elle TENS 2 machine with batteries (obstetric TENS machine desigend for labour; features include two burst modes to use between contractions, boost modes during contractions and a contraction timer)

    • Labour Loot bag (yours to keep)

    • Lanyard (yours to keep – used to hang the machine around your neck in labour)

    • Leads x 2, spare lead x 1 and spare batteries

    • Electrode pads (4 x rectangle 40x100mm electrode pads from Babycare TENS; manufacturers of Elle TENS 2 machines)

    • Instructions on how to use the TENS machine and where to place the pads

    • Hire period of up to 8 weeks

    • Return postage within Australia

  • Lowest TENS hire price guarantee: if you find another provider hiring an Elle TENS 2 machine for up to 8 weeks with return postage included for less than $75, email Labour Loot the website link with all the details and I will beat their price.

  • The TENS machine is to be used by the person named on the booking and is not transferable.

  • The TENS machine remains the property of Labour Loot at all times.

  • It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure a TENS machine is suitable and safe for your use by discussing it with your midwife or doctor.

  • The TENS machine should only be used according to the instructions provided. All instructions and contraindications should be followed by the customer as per the instructions. Labour Loot will not be held liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the TENS machine.

  • The TENS machine is not waterproof and should not be used in/around water; dry skin before applying the pads.

  • You agree to return the TENS machine and leads in the same condition that you received them.

  • If the TENS machine is returned contaminated in bodily fluids, lost, stolen, damaged or not returned within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date, you are liable to pay a replacement fee of up to $199.00 (RRP) and additional debt collector fees if applicable.

Cancellations/refunds:

  • Once the TENS machine has been posted to you, no refund is payable.

  • If you need to cancel the TENS machine hire after you have paid (and your machine has not yet been posted), please email Labour Loot asap to advise of your cancellation request and a full refund will be provided.

  • In the unlikely event that the TENS machine you have received is faulty, a replacement will be posted to you asap. The faulty machine will need to be returned by the customer (in the pre-paid postage satchel provided). If a replacement is not available (ie all TENS machines are booked/hired), you will receive a full refund when the entire contents of the hire pack is returned (unused).

What if I accidentally break the TENS machine?

  • Accidents happen, but Labour Loot also needs to fulfil future hire bookings and receive each TENS machine back in good working order. I do not charge a bond but if the TENS machine is returned contaminated in bodily fluids, lost, stolen, damaged or not returned within four weeks of your baby’s estimated due date, you are liable to pay a replacement fee of up to $199.00 (RRP) and additional debt collector fees if applicable.

  • If you have misplaced or damaged the leads only, please email me and I will do my best to resolve the issue with minimal charges.
